Eagle View Elementary enjoyed a special visit last week coordinated by the school’s art specialist Madison Young. Education Manager Alison Neville with the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art traveled to the school in a special Art Truck. Neville was able to show the students artwork by Jean Richardson that was located in the box part of the truck. “Richardson is an artist and educator from Scotland who is currently practicing in Utah and teaching in the Visual Arts Department at Brigham Young University,” shares the Uintah School District. “Her sculptures and installations are made from her many collections of commonplace objects, such as discarded pencils, envelopes, Post-it notes and drinking straw wrappers. The UMOCA Art Truck brings exciting and accessible contemporary art, created by leading local and national artists, directly to schools across the state free of charge.” The students enjoyed the experience and the classes were provided with structured lesson plans to supplement their tour.
