The Division of Wildlife Resources is asking citizens throughout the region for help as they investigate a poaching incident. According to a February 25th press release, two doe deer and one buck deer were killed and left to waste in Carbon County sometime on the night of December 8th or early on December 9th. The two dead doe deer were discovered on Porphyry Bench near Price. “The two deer had been shot with a .22-caliber firearm, and the meat from both animals had been left to waste,” shares the announcement. “A 4×4 buck deer was also found later near the same area and is believed to be related to the killings of the two doe deer.” Anyone with information related to these killings or any other wildlife-related crime in Utah is encouraged to call the UTiP hotline at 1-800-662-3337 or by texting 847411.
