Tough winter conditions this season could lead to a reduction in buck deer hunting permit for 2017. The Division of Wildlife Resources released the proposed numbers and are gathering input as Regional Advisory Council meetings approach this month. Permits for the general buck deer hunt are proposed to decrease by 725 which isn’t a lot compared to the total number of permits issued. A larger decrease is proposed for cow elk permits on public and private lands and some hunts like the doe pronghorn, bison, and bighorn sheep actually see proposed increases.
