DWR: Hummingbird Banding Highlighted

by | Mar 27, 2025 | News | 0 comments

Wildlife officials in northeastern Utah took the stage on the ‘Wild’ podcast episode most recently shared by the Division of Wildlife Resources. DWR Northeastern Region Outreach Manager Tonya Kieffer-Selby and Ashley National Forest Wildlife Biologist Natasha Hadden talk on the podcast in-depth about hummingbirds, including what species are found in Utah and the work being done to study their migrations. Wildlife biologists often host hummingbird banding demonstrations in northeastern Utah in the summer in Daggett County. The banding activities are a popular activity for wildlife enthusiasts but more importantly, the banding efforts help the DWR collect information for future conservation and management decisions.
