DWR: Flaming Gorge the Place to Fish Against a Beautiful Backdrop

There are plenty of places to fish in northeastern Utah but the DWR has a specific recommendation if you’re looking for peace, solitude and a beautiful backdrop. Randy Oplinger, sport fisheries coordinator, recommends Flaming Gorge when fishing to get away from it all. The reservoir is a great spot for fishing kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, and smallmouth bass. Fishing hotspots can be looked up on the DWR website at
