The Division of Wildlife Resources has the scoop on the places to go to see bald eagles in northeastern Utah next month. February is considered the best time of year to see America’s most iconic bird and typically, the DWR holds annual bald eagle viewing events. This year, unfortunately, they won’t be hosting any in an effort to lessen the spread of COVID-19. “There are plenty of places where you can see eagles on your own though,” shares the DWR. In northeastern Utah, eagles are often visible along the Green River near the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge. You can also often see bald eagles near open areas of water, high in the trees above the river and along the cliffs that run next to the main Wildlife Refuge Road in Randlett. Bald Eagle Month pins are expected to be available for pickup at the DWR’s Vernal Office after February 15th.
