Biologists from the Division of Wildlife Resources are recommending changes to the 2018 – 2019 turkey hunt. Starting this fall, there will be more chances to take wild turkeys during the fall hunt and there could be additional firearm options to choose from as well. The following are being suggested: Allow hunters to buy up to three fall turkey hunting permits rather than the current amount of only one. During fall and spring seasons, allow hunters to use any shotgun firing BB or smaller diameter shot. And during the fall season only, allow hunters to hunt turkeys with rim fire firearms. To offer input on these recommendations, all are welcome to attend the Regional Advisory Council meeting on May 10th at the DWR Northeastern Region Office at 318 North Vernal Avenue.
