A DUI arrest in the Bluebell area last week was enhanced to include a felony weapons
charge. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, an officer observed a vehicle on
the side of the Bluebell Highway and noticed people scattering around the vehicle which
then drove off. The officer followed which was easy to do as it traveled at 35mph in a 60
mph zone. The vehicle kept braking and drifting over the white fog line. A traffic stop
was initiated and the driver was identified as Trent Cienna Ray Sowsonicut. The smell of
alcohol was coming from the vehicle and when asked what they were doing, Trent said
they had been out hunting. Trent was asked to exit the vehicle and he was unable to
complete the field sobriety testing as he kept closing his eyes. He was placed under arrest
and transferred to the hospital for clearance and a blood draw. 2 rifles were found in the
back seat of the vehicle resulting in a felony charge of Possession of a Firearm by a
Category 1 Restricted Person in addition to the DUI charge.
