Duchesne Firefighters Take Part of Winter Fire School

Every year in January, the Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA) conducts a fire training school in St. George, Utah called Winter Fire School (WFS). The event is one of the largest of its type in the nation with more then 70 classes and over 700 students, instructors, and support staff. It also boasts a large vendor show with 60 some vendors  representing major fire, rescue, safety, and EMS equipment sales and service companies from throughout the United States. Representing the Uintah Basin was the Duchesne Fire Department Firefighters Bobby Sprecher, Ben Broadbent, Eric Park, Rick Hopkins and Craig Keel. The firefighters attended some of the following courses: Ventilation Tactics and Training, Habits of Highly Effective Incident Commanders, Going with the Flow: Understanding and Applying the Principles of S.L.I.C.E.R.S. and Mental Health Awareness for First Responders to name a few.
