The year saw some realignments to almost every classification in Utah high school football. Deseret News has provided predictions for the upcoming season and a Uintah Basin team received top praise. Last year’s 1A champions, Layton Christian, has been moved to 2A leaving the 1A North division wide open. The report states that most coaches predict the power to return to the team Layton Christian had to wrestle it from in the first place: the Duchesne Eagles. The Eagles have a history of winning titles and most recently won the 1A state title in 2021. The team will be welcoming back six offensive starters, and seven starters on defense. They will have a challenge in that the offensive line lost four of the five starters. It is an exciting year with people having some high expectations. On top of it all, Duchesne will have the joy of hosting their games in a brand-new stadium.
