Everyone on Facebook has seen someone post that long list of personal information such as where did you grow up, what was your first pet’s name, first job and favorite color. Most consider this innocent information to share with friends, getting to know them better, and doing it in a fun way. Unfortunately, participating may compromise your personal security and private information. Some of these questions are the same questions banking institutions or online accounts ask when verifying who they are talking to. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office states, “Think twice before actually participating in these kinds of Facebook name-games. This is just another way scammers can gain valuable information without you even realizing it. See it, Delete it! Spread the word.”
