The Duchesne County Search and Rescue team received well deserved recognition this month by the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office. Service awards were presented at an annual banquet on January 9th which gave individual recognitions to Dusty Jensen, Guy Taylor, and Justin Schmidt. “These men are all volunteers and jump at a moment’s notice to go out and search for missing or lost individuals. They are our family, our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers – the community’s best of the best,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “Duchesne County Search and Rescue was called out on 18 different searches in 2024 totaling 577.7 hours they spent away from their families to help others in need. They work hard to train and improve their search and rescue skills and knowledge to be at their best when we need them.” Thank you to all that serve and sacrifice for the safety of the community.
