The Duchesne County School District takes the mental health of the kids they serve very seriously. To help both parents and children navigate the challenges of stress and mental achievement they have invited Doctor Christy Kane to share her 20 plus years of clinical experience and scientific research. Dr. Kane holds a doctorate in clinical psychology, a masters in mental health counseling, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She will first be at Altamont High School on Wednesday, January 22nd from 6 to 7:30pm sharing how stress impacts the brain. Attendees will learn skills to be able to stabilize families in a stressful world. On Thursday, January 23rd she will be at the Roosevelt Junior High to discuss how to create mentally strong kids. She will address the need to raise children who are emotionally resilient to the challenges of the world. Both lectures are free.
