Duchesne County School District Announces Grading for 4th Quarter

by | May 5, 2020 | News | 0 comments

Duchesne County School District has issued a press release concerning 4th quarter grading. For all elementary schools, the MasteryConnect grading will occur as normal except if a student is not proficient or the teacher lacks evidence to declare a proficiency level the report will be blank. For secondary students, any student who earns an A will receive the grade as normal. A grade of  A- to D- has the possibility to change to a P for “Passing”. In the past the NCAA would consider a P as a D in their calculations, but for the Spring of 2020 it will “hold students harmless for receiving a P.” Any grade of F will automatically be changed to an NG for “No Grade”. This means that a GPA will remain unharmed but it could affect a student’s graduation because NG treats the class as if it was never taken. Students can make up a NG to a P by working with the teacher on requirements and must be completed by October 30th of 2020. Graduation requirements for those in 9th to 12th grade remains unchanged. If you have questions they should be directed to a classroom teacher, school counselor, or school administrator.
