A Duchesne County school counselor has been recognized for her work in teaching students about self-regulation and emotional control. Amber Thacker is the latest to be highlighted in the state by the Utah School Counselors Association. Thacker has been a counselor for 8 years and works at Centennial Elementary School. In the highlight, Thacker and her program are credited with helping students to be “better able to recognize, express, and regulate their emotions. Amber reports it is so beneficial to have the whole school speaking the same language and working as a team to support students’ social-emotional needs.” Congratulations Amber Thacker and thank you for serving the youth in our community so well.
