A Duchesne County Jail inmate has been charged after allegedly attacking a fellow inmate. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the assault took place in the jail on January 15th at around 2:44pm. Inmate Minnie Gutierrez walked up behind another inmate unprompted, who was seated at a table speaking to other inmates, and began striking the other inmate many times, estimated by herself to be at least 10 times. Minnie was physically removed from on top of the other inmate that was found to have suffered injuries to her right arm, back of her head, and face. Video evidence, as well as interviews, indicate that the assault was planned. 35-year-old Minnie Amelia Gutierrez is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Assault by a Prisoner.
