The 2021 Duchesne County Fair Legendary Cowboy is Gary Goodrich. Goodrich was born in 1938 and has called Bluebell home his entire life. He married Nonalee Holgate in 1957 and the pair have been married for over 62 years, having raised 6 kids. “The country life has been good for me,” shares Gary. “I always had a horse to ride, and a dog to play with. Always some adventure just around the corner.” Rodeo was a big part of those adventures. In 1965, Gary had the opportunity along with Rhett Searle, to judge the Horsemanship Competition for the Utah State High School Rodeo Queen Contest. This was the first Utah State Finals Rodeo and it was held in Vernal. He also spent years over the Duchesne County Fair Rodeo. “I have been involved with horses and livestock all my life,” shares Gary. “…This has been a family affair. It’s a life that bonds families together.” Congratulations Gary Goodrich on the well deserved recognition as the 2021 Legendary Cowboy.
