This year’s Duchesne County Fair Honorary Veteran is Steve Dunsmore. Steve was born in 1948 in Roosevelt and lived most of his life in the Altamont area. He was drafted into the Army in 1968 and was trained as a helicopter mechanic and door gunner. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was discharged upon his return to the United States. Dunsmore worked as a lineman for Moon Lake Electric, retiring after 30 years, and has also served as an EMT for 25 years. He remains a member of the American Legion Altonah Post 53 and still believes that America is the greatest Nation in the world with the American Flag as the greatest symbol. Dunsmore is a proud husband, father, and grandfather. Duchesne County is excited to recognize Steve Dunsmore at this year’s fair for his dedicated service to our country as well as to the community.
