For county governments, December means it’s time to finalize the budget for the coming year. After months of budget work sessions, the Duchesne County Commission approved a 2024 budget of about $57.4 million dollars. Within that budget, the General Fund was approved at about $30.8 million dollars, the Capital Project Fund was approved at about $9 million dollars, and ARPA and LATCF Grants at about $5.5 million dollars. During the December 4th public hearing, Commissioner Miles explained that the ARPA and LATCF grants helped with the East River Road repair and will also be used for the remodel of the South Building starting in January. The budget also included a 3 percent across-the-board increase cost-of-living adjustment for all employees for the 2024 budget year. The final 2024 budget for Duchesne County was approved on December 11th.
