Duchesne County Burn Window Opening This Week

by | Sep 11, 2024 | News | 0 comments

It’s almost time for the Duchesne County fall burn window which opens this weekend. All controlled burns must be reported to Central Dispatch and a burn permit is required. Burning barrels are illegal and no household garbage can be burned. Only burn in a clean area that is away from any structures and away from trees. The burn area should not be under or near any power poles, power lines, or any other utility services. Always have a good water source available while burning. Watch and tend to the fire at all times. Property owners will be liable if the fire escapes the controlled area. All fires must be out by dusk. Keep burn piles to a manageable size and burn as early as possible in the day to avoid burning in windy conditions. Before beginning your controlled burn in Duchesne County, call 435-789-4222 or 435-738-2424. The County burn window opens September 15th and runs through the month of October.
