Southern and central Utah experienced wild weather with severe thunderstorms on Thursday. Parts of Duchesne County were included in Thursday’s flash flood warnings issued by National Weather Service, specifically on the Dollar Ridge burn scar and Strawberry River. Thankfully that area received less rain than the rest of the areas of the state under flash flood warnings. Still it is important for all to remain alert to the dangers of thunderstorms and potential for flash flooding. If you hear thunder, move to safe shelter immediately. If you encounter flooded roads, turn around. Do not drive through a flooded road as most flood deaths occur in instances where vehicles attempt to drive through a flooded area.
