This Saturday, local agencies are hosting Drug Take Back events around the Uintah Basin where expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs can be dropped off, no questions asked. Pills and patches are accepted. Liquids, needles, or sharps are not. This is the 16th opportunity that Drug Take Back has been offered locally. “We’ve been doing it for 8 years,” shares TriCounty Health representative Jeramie Tubbs. “Last spring, we took in 242 pounds of pills…When you look at the data around opioid addictions, the majority do start with prescriptions.” The free service is scheduled for
Saturday, October 27th, from 10am to 2pm
at Al’s Foodtown in Duchesne, Stewart’s Marketplace in Roosevelt, and Walmart in Vernal. If you miss the event, there are drop boxes located in Duchesne at the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, at the Roosevelt City Building, and the Uintah County Safety Complex.
