A program that many know little to nothing about is doing a lot of good in the community. Uintah County Drug Court held its quarterly graduation on Tuesday celebrating two individuals who completed the 18 month program and both of whom hope to spread the word so that more people can find help and success like they have. Graduate Aaron Herrera says the tools the program teaches has helped him have a functional life without abusing alcohol or drugs, something many people in the Uintah Basin could use help with. Fellow graduate Ryan Heilman agrees that the tools learned have been key to making a better life for himself, from daily life skills to learning how to handle emotions. Drug Court Case Manager Jennifer Nash believes in this program and is grateful for Aaron and Ryan’s example and willingness to encourage others to get help. Her hope is that the community will get educated and recognize this program as the important opportunity it provides to those who need it most.
