An arrest was made following a head on crash on Highway 40 in Duchesne County on Monday. According to Utah Highway Patrol, a westbound passenger car crossed over into the eastbound lanes and hit an eastbound semi. “That spun the passenger car and it hit a second semi that was also eastbound [causing] serious damage to the passenger car,” shares UHP. “The two semi’s weren’t too badly damaged.” The eastbound lanes were blocked and traffic alternated using the westbound lanes. The two occupants in the passenger car were transported to the hospital for injuries. During the investigation of the crash, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia were located in and near the passenger car. The passenger from the car, 28-year-old Brett Hansen, was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance and other drug charges.
