City and County officials continue to advance the Downtown Vernal Plan. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion provided the update: The plan is built upon public engagement and more ideas to create a better result. In December, a public hearing was held for the establishment of the Community Reinvestment Area with 76 residents and business owners attending. City and County staff worked together to secure additional grant funding for components of the plan. The first project of the downtown plan will be constructed this summer and will consist of rebuilding the public parking lot, utilities and walkway behind the buildings on the 100 West block of Main (Zions block). The City created a project page on www.vernalcity.org to track advancement and next steps.
