Uintah School District has been focused on service this year and even the youngest students in the District are doing their part. “Even though our students are small, do not count them out,” shares Central Cove team member Monica Fairey. “We have been using every opportunity to learn and experience service to others. It is anything from saying a simple hello to our friends, or giving a high five to the teachers and bus drivers. It is making something that involves a little more time and effort, such as creating Valentine’s Day cards for the residents in the Beehive Homes or the Care Center… It is being a good helper for their family and helping a little more at home. It is picking up a piece of trash that would be easy to walk past, or smiling at a new friend just starting class. Each classroom has taken its own opportunity to do service and acts of kindness, sometimes for people they don’t know.” If you get the chance to visit Central Cove take a moment to notice the life-sized paper tree covered in pictures of students giving acts of service. Thank you to the staff and students of Central Cove Preschool for your wonderful example and for making our community an even better place!
