Day 16 of the Dollar Ridge Fire saw a jump in containment and a chunk of the firefighters moving on to more urgent fires. The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office reported that as of 8:42pm on Monday night, the Dollar Ridge Fire reached 85 percent containment and there are now a total of 474 fire personnel. With residents present in the burned area, Utah Fire Info shared that interior hotspots will continue to pop up, adding visible smoke and even open flames on the Dollar Ridge Fire. “This will continue throughout the upcoming weeks as firefighters concentrate their suppression efforts along the fire’s edge and work towards the interior. The fire perimeter is being monitored by crews on the ground as well as aerial resources.” The estimated containment date has been moved back a few days to Wednesday, July 25th.
