The northeastern Utah officials with the Division of Wildlife Resources have plenty of timely reminders for locals. As a heads up, a controlled burn will be taking place as conditions allow at the Stewart Lake Waterfowl Management area in Jensen in about two weeks. If you see a smoke cloud, just know officials are aware and the fire is being managed. Two big events this month are the Ice Addiction tournament on Steinaker Reservoir this Saturday and the Bald Eagle Viewing Day at the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge on February 19th. It’s time from now until March to put in for big game hunts. Those interested in hunting shed antlers must complete the antler gather course online and have a completed and signed certificate on their person when out hunting sheds. If you have a digital version it still must be a signed version. Anyone with questions or concerns are welcome to call 435-781-WILD.
