An exciting project that will greatly improve public safety will soon get underway. The Discovery Trail project will be constructed this summer 2023. The trail will connect Discovery Elementary School with the neighborhoods to the south along 1500 South. The trail will be an off-road 10 foot asphalt path. A crosswalk with a flashing pedestrian light will be installed on 1500 South. The project is administered by Vernal City with support from the Dino Trails committee and Uintah County. The project is funded with a UDOT grant and a DEQ air-quality grant. The project will help families get to and from Discovery Elementary safely and alleviate the number of vehicles at drop off/pick-up.
