Through the combined efforts of Vernal City, Uintah County Travel and Tourism, Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce, Uintah Special Service District 1, and numerous local businesses and individuals, this year’s Dinosaurland FreedomFest was a success. FreedomFest Chairman Amber Hadlock shares that there were a few bumps like some rain, hail, and a short power outage but the community still enjoyed around 20 food trucks, field of flags and patriotic program, parade, local vendors, live entertainment, a variety of activities and ended the night off with a bang with fireworks. Some highlights include the Firecracker 5k put on by USSD1 which had a record number of participants this year and added a new 1 mile race option through the field of flags at the Freestone Walking Park. There was a coed grass volleyball tournament sponsored by USSD1, cornhole tournament by Ashley Valley Cornhole League, lawn games, face painting, bounce houses, free mechanical bull rides sponsored by Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo and more. The event saw local musicians taking to the stage with rising star David Morris, wowing the large crowd Tuesday night. Thanks to all the organizers, sponsors, and to the community for once again making Dinosaurland FreedomFest a success and the Basin a great place to live!
