Dinosaur Themed Bike Racks Installed Around Vernal

TriCounty Health Department shared in a press release on Friday that bike racks in the shape of triceratops and a pterodactyl have been placed around Vernal at Ashley Valley Park, Uintah County Library and Naples City Park, with one more to come at a later date. In August and September 2020, TriCounty Health Department, acting as a member of the Active and Healthy Communities Committee, asked for design concepts and offered recognition and funding to anyone interested in designing these dinosaur themed bike racks. Winners of the contest are the following local artists: Carrie Munford, Arnie Gray, Corey Hicken, and Whitney Jackson. “I hope this is one small step for future changes in the right direction,” shares TriCounty Health Officer Kirk Benge. “I hope families in the community feel safe knowing there is a place to lock up bikes as children ride their bikes to parks and the local library. It is great to see our supportive community pull together again to show support for children playing outdoors.”
