The Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo 2023 Legendary Cowboy is Gary Goodrich. Gary proved to be a cowboy from a very young age, riding his first horse around the farm by age 4 and milking cows by age 6. It didn’t take long before he learned what fun roping was and he got into calf roping and team roping. In 1957, he married Nonalee Holgate. They have been married for 64 years and have a wonderful family. During his life, Gary has been on many podiums and roped in every rodeo in the Uintah Basin including the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo. 1970 was a special year as he won the calf roping and his daughter Kim won the barrel racing. All these years later, Gary still helps with the horses and livestock and attends rodeos and horse races with his family. He truly is a legendary cowboy who, in his words, “is not ready to be turned out to pasture yet!”
