Northeastern Utah has been hit by heavy rains like much of the state and Dinosaur National Monument announced some closures as a result. “The unpaved Echo Park and Yampa Bench roads are temporarily closed because of multiple washouts after a rain event on August 25th,” shares the Monument’s announcement. “They are being assessed for repairs. [There is] no estimated date for reopening at this time.” Echo Park Campground is also temporarily closed as its access depends on the Echo Park or Yampa Bench road conditions. All-wheel drive and higher clearance vehicles are now recommended for Island Park Road and the Rainbow Park Campground. Cub Creek Road, which is mostly paved, remains open as does Split Mountain Road that is fully paved. National Park Service is providing updates on the roads and their condition on their website.
