The folks with the Dinoland Adventure Project shared some exciting news over the weekend. DAP was awarded the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation Mini-grant and that means the development of the Flag Crag rock climbing area at Remember the Maine Park is underway. Last year, the Dinoland Adventure Project was created with a vision to expand the outdoor rock climbing scene in the Uintah Basin. Local climbing enthusiast Amber Toler is among those blazing the trail forward for outdoor climbing. Toler explains that the Flag Crag project is a great place to start “because of its incredible potential to be a safe and beginner-friendly crag, close to town. It’ll be the perfect stepping stone for someone who got started with climbing at the Rec Center Rock Wall and who wants to take their experience outdoors!” There are opportunities to help with the project by donating, helping to build trails and belay stations, providing food on volunteer days, and more.
