Uintah County Travel and Tourism is inviting all to keep an eye to the sky. The 3rd Annual Dinah SOAR Days Balloon Festival will have a few adjustments but all the fun and excitement of the first two years. “Due to COVID we had to move the date back a few months,” shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism. “The Balloons will launch from the Uintah Rec Center each morning at 6:30 am [but] no tethered rides this year due to COVID. Don’t miss the Night Glow…it was the talk of the town for months last year.” On Friday evening, Vernal’s Main Street will close from 5th West to 5th East. There will be a car show, the “running” of the Dinosaurs race, an epic battle of the bands, and of course Main Street will be lit up with over 10 enormous balloons. Meeting the pilots is a favorite opportunity for festival visitors each year. The fun continues Saturday evening as well. “We are excited to bring back the balloons for one last time in 2020,” shares Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. “We hosted several pilots in May as a positive for the community when we had to reschedule Dinah SOAR Days due to COVID and can’t wait to be bringing them back for the FULL festival on August 28th-30th. I think if I had to tell people one thing not to miss it would be the Night Glow on Friday evening. We have so many fun things planned and it will be a memory that will last a lifetime. Plan now to join us Friday at 7:30 pm when Vernal’s Main Street comes Alive!” Visit the Dinah “SOAR” Days & Hot Air Balloon Festival Facebook page for more information.
