A support group for kids with Type 1 Diabetes and their families has started back up. Stephanie Adams started the group DiaBESTIES on her way home from Primary Children’s Hospital after her daughter MaKayla was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of nine years old. “I started the group DiaBESTIES to help build a community so those with Type 1 Diabetes do not feel alone,” explains Adams. “DiaBESTIES is a place where diabetics and their parents can come share stories and learn from each other. But most of all, to have fun together.” DiaBESTIES will meet for an hour at 4:30pm at the Uintah Recreation Center in Vernal every 2nd Thursday of each month. Join the group’s facebook page for reminders and updates.
