Road construction is slowing down travelers on Highway 40 from Duchesne towards Myton. The U.S. Route 40 Duchesne to East River Road Paving project is underway to extend the life and improve the ride of the roadway by the Utah Department of Transportation. “This week, the contractor is removing and replacing the asphalt road surface along US-40 between mile markers 91 and Antelope Creek (approximately mile marker 97). Currently this work is taking place in the eastbound lanes with all vehicle traffic shifted to a single lane within this project area. Traffic is one direction only at a time with a pilot car and approximately 15 minutes wait time. Beginning Tuesday, September 3rd, it is anticipated that the contractor will begin removing and replacing asphalt in the westbound lanes within the current project area, with all vehicle traffic shifted to a single lane within the project area. Traffic will continue to be one direction only at a time with a pilot car and approximately 15 minutes wait time.” There is also work going on in Duchesne City to replace ADA pedestrian ramps along Main Street. Work is scheduled Sunday through Thursday with some Friday work from 5am to 7pm.
