A Duchesne County man was arrested in the early morning on Thursday after a fatal shooting in the Myton area. 46-year-old Keith Nelson Broadwater was arrested Thursday for the alleged offenses of Murder and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon Under the Influence of Alcohol. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed in 8th District Court, law enforcement was dispatched to a gunshot incident just before 1:00am on Thursday. Officers responded and learned that Broadwater had been in an argument with another male subject. When the argument escalated, Broadwater shot him in his body center mass and the man died from the gunshot injury. After the incident Broadwater himself called Central Dispatch and stated that “he shot his friend.” The probable cause statement also shared that it was reported that Broadwater had been drinking all day leading up to the incident. The gun was seized at the scene. The judge ordered Broadwater to be released under specific conditions.
