A Daggett County man was arrested over the weekend following an investigation into an alleged rape. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, the victim went to an emergency room the day after the event and a rape kit and examination was done. The medical report supported the claim. The victim also provided investigators with text messages showing that 58-year-old Robert Dean Chacon threatened the victim not to tell anyone what happened and that no one would believe it even if she did. On May 15th, the victim filed and was granted a protective order and Chacon was arrested on May 18th. He is charged with 1st Degree Felony Object Rape, 2nd Degree Felony Obstruction of Justice, and 3rd Degree Felony Retaliation Against a Victim or Informant. He is being held without bail.
