Colorado State Patrol responded to a fatal accident on Monday on Highway 40 in Moffat County. Craig Daily Press reports that the accident took place at mile marker 102 west of Hayden. It involved 2 vehicles and a 65-year-old female from Craig sustained fatal injuries. This is the second fatal accident in less than two months on that stretch of Highway 40 east of Craig. Icy road conditions were a factor in the fatal accident that took place on November 5th involving 3 vehicles. In that accident, a 38-year-old Craig man was killed. Earlier this month there was a 4 vehicle accident that involved a box truck. That accident thankfully did not kill anyone.
