Moffat County Judge Sandra Gardner has delivered the sentence to a Craig man who was convicted of attempting to commit sexual assault on a child. 34-year-old Benjamin Tolle pleaded guilty early this month during which the judge reminded him that if he had been convicted on the original charges, he would be facing a “very lengthy prison sentence”. Instead he received 5-years in prison followed by 15 years of supervised probation. Tolle was arrested one year ago after a victim reported that a teacher had inappropriately touched the victim on many occasions. Tolle will receive treatment while in prison. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
