A report was given last week at the Vernal Chamber luncheon by TriCounty Health representatives with COVID-19 statistics. During the first wave of COVID in 2020 in Uintah County, the highest week for cases reached 309. The Delta wave in the fall of 2021 was the second wave of COVID and the highest week for cases during that time was 422. The Omicron wave currently underway is considered the third wave of COVID and the highest week for cases has been 932. As of the presentation last week, there were 20,707 fully vaccinated individuals in Uintah County and 7,139 individuals that had received booster shots.
