TriCounty Health Department announced Thursday that the Vernal Test Utah COVID-19 testing location has been moved from the health department to Uintah Basin Healthcare’s Basin Clinic Urgent Care in Vernal. “With case counts increasing, the department needed to reallocate resources from our testing efforts to case investigation efforts,” shares TriCounty Health Officer Jordan Mathis. “We are extremely grateful to our partners at Uintah Basin Health for agreeing to take over and maintaining this local COVID-19 testing capacity within our community.” Uintah Basin Healthcare President and CEO Jim Marshall says that “while there are costs associated with UBH hosting the free testing site, we feel that expanded local capacity for testing is imperative to protect our community.” The Basin Clinic Urgent Care is located at 475 North 500 West.
