It was only too perfect that the winner of this year’s Country Showdown was a small town, songwriting country boy with mad guitar skills and a voice to match. With a name like Rowdy, it’s easy to imagine this 19-year-old on a much bigger Country music stage and at least his next step in that direction is coming up next month. As part of winning the 2023 Country Showdown, Rowdy Martin Rosendahl will open for a Country music hit artist at the County Fair which is an opportunity he is looking forward to. Rowdy won the judges over at the Country Showdown with his performance of his original song ‘The Forever Dance’ which he describes as a reminder that life goes by fast so we should always make time for and care about the people most important to us. While he certainly fits the mold of a Country artist, his dreams of singing on a big stage are relatively new. His passion for and skill on the guitar has been 10 years in the making but it was only two years ago his mother coaxed him into singing with his sister for the first time. “Mom could hear a little bit of spark and knew I had it in me,” shares Rowdy. While scared to death and encouraged by his mom, Rowdy started singing in public when he had the chance. He says now, two years later, he loves to sing in front of people and hopes to share his music with the world. Your chance to hear this talented young man is coming up on August 17th where he will open for Easton Corbin at the Uintah County Fair.
