Cook Sentenced to Concurrent Prison Terms

A Duchesne County man has been sentenced to prison for multiple cases of theft and burglary. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, 35-year-old Travis Kirk Cook was sentenced on November 6th to serve up to 15 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and up to 5 years in prison for theft by receiving stolen property. He was sentenced in a second case to serve up to 5 years in prison on additional drug charges and up to 5 years in prison for burglary in a third case. Judge Samuel Chiara ordered all of the sentences to run concurrently with each other. Charges were filed against Cook and 29-year-old Danielle Jensen Cook this summer after detectives searched their home and located a cache of stolen antiques and memorabilia. According to the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office, the couple would sell the stolen items on eBay and a Facebook page called Small Town Underground Antiques and Collectables. Travis Cook was arrested during the
June 27th
search of their home while Danielle Cook was already in the Duchesne County Jail serving on a jail sentence for a conviction in a prior case. Cook accepted a plea deal in September and agreed to pay full restitution to his victims including on the charges that were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. Cook still has charges pending in Uintah County as well as in Idaho.
