Life in prison is a possibility for a Craig man convicted in Colorado’s 14th Judicial District Court last week on 5 charges including felony sexual assault on a child. The verdict read against 39-year-old Johnnie Ellifritz last Friday was Guilty. Court documents state that Ellifritz molested a girl over a three year period while the girl was between the ages of 12 and 15. Sentencing is scheduled for June. He will undergo a psycho-sexual evaluation before then which is standard in Colorado. Ellefritz is facing between 8 years to life in prison. The 14th Judicial District of Colorado District Attorney Matt Karzen praised the victim and her family for their courage throughout the court process.
