Contour Airlines Launches Service Between Vernal Regional Airport And Denver

Contour Airlines has officially added Denver as a destination from the Vernal Regional Airport and the maiden voyage that left Vernal on Wednesday nearly filled the 30-seat aircraft. Contour became the newest carrier to and from the Denver International Airport on Tuesday with their first flight between Moab and Denver where service will run 7 days a week while initially service between Vernal and Denver will run 5 days a week. Vernal Regional Airport Manager Ken Campbell says this addition has been in the works since Contour took over service in Vernal and is especially in high demand for local industry leaders. “The oil and gas community lives by these Denver flights but when Skywest decided not to keep their service in Vernal and we found Contour, we knew initially they could only go to Phoenix,” explains Campbell. “It took them a little while to get everything lined up so these Denver flights could happen but here they are in their 13th month and it has happened. Kudos to them for the amount of work they did to get this thing pulled off.” For now, service at the Vernal Regional Airport will be 7 days to Phoenix and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday to Denver. Campbell says he feels good about their current position as they have established a very good working relationship with United in Denver, American Airlines in Phoenix, and have recently signed with Alaska Airlines in both Phoenix and Denver.
