The Utah Department of Transportation plans to resume the construction project taking place on Highway 40 between Daniel Summit and milepost 46 as early as Monday, May 11th. Work will be spread out on the 11 mile stretch. The project will bring the following improvements: rebuilding the roadway pavement to improve smoothness and extend the life of the road, adding a westbound passing lane between mileposts 35 and 40, installing new wildlife fencing and gates, and placing roadway cameras. Those planning to travel should expect up to 15 minute travel delays with speed limit reductions in the work zone areas. There will be flagging and pilot car operations as needed. There will be one 12 foot lane each direction that will be maintained during construction. Construction activity will take place Monday through Sunday during daylight hours. Wide and heavy loads over 12 foot wide are restricted starting May 11th.
