Construction on 500 North in Vernal City from Vernal Avenue to 500 East is moving
forward. A bid was accepted firming up plans for work to happen in the spring and
summer of 2024. Vernal City obtained grant funds four years ago for improvements on
500 North from Vernal Avenue to 500 East. UDOT is planning to start construction next
spring. That section will add a sidewalk. Uintah County’s Special Service District 1 was
awarded earlier this year a UDOT grant for improvements on 500 North from 500 East to
the landfill but that project is several years behind the initial stretch from Vernal Avenue
to 500 East.
