While some local events are possibly on hold for safety reasons, representatives for the Burbot Bash have announced that a safety meeting was held and all those involved felt comfortable with the current conditions on Flaming Gorge. The ice has remained at at least 5 inches of clear ice and surface temperatures have continued to drop. It’s anticipated that ice could be gained this week with cold temperatures in the forecast. Safety updates will be provided as needed but for now the Burbot Bash is going to happen. Unlike other species, there is no catch limit for burbot on Flaming Gorge and both Wyoming and Utah game officials encourage anglers to harvest as many as possible. The advantage of joining the fun during the Burbot Bash event is the chance for some serious prize money. Visit
